Dramatising the Readings

The readings can be read by more than one person to make the dramatic meaning of the text clearer.

For instance, the first reading (1a) could be read by three or four readers: narrator, Joshua, people (1 or 2); the alternative first reading (1b) could be read by three readers: one reader to announce and close the reading, Amos, the Lord; and the gospel could be read by several readers: narrator (the pastor), Jesus, the crier, foolish girl(s), wise girl(s), bridegroom.
