Conversation starters for congregations
We want every member of the church to know what is happening so they can consider the options and contribute to the way forward. Please share the webinar recording with your congregations and communities. Synod delegates, in your responsible role, we are looking to you especially to engage your parish members in this conversation. We've prepared some talking points to help get the conversations started, and we welcome your congregation's feedback on the three frameworks via the Frameworks webpages.
Questions to get you started
The questions below are suggestions for getting the conversations going. Feel free to use all of them, any of them, or create your own. These questions could be considered individually or in small groups, trios or pairs. Provide sticky notes so participants can write their comments and paste them onto boards. This approach creates an environment where people are able to be honest about their feelings. Allow everyone to look at the collective thoughts and feelings of the group, without making any comments. Ask someone to collate all the comments under the question headings and feed the summaries back to the Way Forward time via the Questions page or the three Framework pages.
Webinar
Three one-hour public webinars were presented during October 2023. During the webinars the team:
- shared an overview of the process
- outlined the three frameworks that will be enhanced during October 2023 to July 2024
- shared how you can engage with the Way Forward.
Not all questions asked by webinar participants were able to be answered in the allocated time. However, all questions submitted (both those answered during the webinars and those that weren't) are being answered by the project team and will be added to the Way Forward Questions page. A number of them are already loaded.
What did you think?
