Step out, so a child can step up!

3 March 2025

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

To celebrate and give thanks for its 75th anniversary in 2025, Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) aims to support 75,000 children from the world’s poorest communities with the essentials for a happy, healthy life – food, school and safety.

Step out at ALWS Walk My Way event near you and change the future for children impacted by poverty and war in Ukraine, and in other places the world has forgotten, like South Sudan, Somalia and Nepal.

Just $25 can provide clean drinking water or medicine for a month for a Ukrainian child or emergency bedding, towels and blankets for a whole family fleeing the war in Ukraine.

Whether you step out yourself, support a walker or give a donation, you bring love to life as you help 75,000 children step up to the life every child deserves.

A weekend of commemorative activities including Walk My Way will launch the 75th anniversary celebrations at the home and birthplace of ALWS in Albury, New South Wales, and Bonegilla, Victoria, from 21 to 23 March. On Sunday 30 March, Good News Lutheran College at Tarneit in Melbourne’s west will also host a Walk My Way.

There will be further opportunities to share practical care and love through ALWS in May, with Walk My Way events from Australian Lutheran College in North Adelaide on Saturday 3 May and in Brisbane on Saturday 10 May.

Register today and take advantage of limited early-bird pricing. Go to alws75.org.au for more details, to register for Walk My Way, or to sponsor a walker. Use the suite of promotional resources to invite your whole church or school community to get involved too! Find them here.
