Safe Church training restructured
The LCANZ has been restructuring the way it delivers Safe Church training and manages complaints, in response to feedback from the church.
We have listened carefully to your feedback, particularly regarding the workload of volunteers, and worked hard to incorporate suggestions from across the church in the way Safe Church training is now structured and delivered.
The modifications have been designed to make the training more robust, effective and sustainable and to improve the training experience for our church members.
Face-to-face training was phased out in 2024, and delivery of the courses is solely online from this year. Both self-paced and live-online training formats are now available, and the latter is proving popular with those who value the interaction with the trainers, as well as the opportunity to have their questions answered. Participants can learn more and register for training through the Safe Church Training webpage.
By necessity, the changes have resulted in some Professional Standards positions being made redundant, with different roles being created to meet the needs of the new structure. These new roles are listed below, and more details are available on the LCA website. Applications close on 3 March.
