The Board of Lutheran Homes Barossa is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Schupelius as the organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer. Michelle will officially commence her role on March 11, 2025, bringing extensive leadership experience in the aged care sector.

Michelle has spent the past decade in various executive roles, demonstrating expertise in operational management, quality and compliance, and strategic leadership within aged care organisations. She has a strong background in governance and is highly regarded for her commitment to ensuring excellence in care and community engagement.

Currently residing in Kapunda with her family, Michelle is a familiar face in the Barossa region and has a deep understanding of the needs of aged care communities. Her professional qualifications include a Master of Business Administration, a Graduate Diploma in Gerontological Nursing, and a Bachelor of Nursing. She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and actively contributes to the sector through board roles with the Aged Care Industry Association and the Australian College of Nursing’s Faculty of the Aging.

In preparation for this transition, Interim CEO Uby Faddoul has been working closely with the Board and management team to strengthen governance and operational processes. Uby will continue in this role until the end of April to ensure a smooth handover.

The Board of Lutheran Homes Barossa looks forward to welcoming Michelle and working alongside her to continue providing high-quality care and a strong, supportive community for residents, families, and staff.
