Have church? Will travel!
Members of St Paul’s Lutheran Church Beaudesert, south-west of Brisbane, recently proved the adage ‘If the members can’t come to church, then church will go to the members’!
The 11 people from St Paul’s visited a fellow member who has been unable to attend services because of mobility issues on Ash Wednesday, taking a full church service to their home – complete with ashes on our foreheads, and also communion.
The service was led by one of our elders and the day was appreciated by all, not just our member for whom the day was organised. This service was followed by a bring-and-share lunch. After Easter, we plan to again take a service to this member. The church has even bought a keyboard so that we could have music during the service.
