Earlier this year St John’s Lutheran Church in tiny Buccleuch near Peake on South Australia’s Mallee Highway has held its first confirmation service in nearly 20 years, when seven people were confirmed in their faith.

Bringing together the teaching skills of retired teachers with the learning needs of children, many of whom are refugees, has been a match made in heaven for one northern suburbs school in Adelaide.

The LCANZ’s new congregational child safety standards will go through a consultation process in April and May. The LCA standards are designed to ensure that the church can meet its regulatory responsibilities in response to an increasingly rigorous child safety landscape.
