Recently ALWS Community Action Manager Jonathan Krause saw some very different ‘Lutheran’ schools – schools our Lutheran family in Australia is building and equipping for children trapped inside displaced-persons camps in Myanmar in Southeast Asia.

Most Walk My Way participants found treading one course in the ALWS community event enough of a challenge. But Pastor Peter Hage now has three 25km treks under his soles – and is eyeing off a fourth.

On 13 April more than 400 Lutherans and their friends, who ‘walked my way’ in Adelaide, Darwin and Melbourne, made it possible for 5600 refugee children to go to school.

Twenty-three LCA pastors, including three bishops, are among more than 280 people who will walk up to 26km in an Australia-wide effort to support refugee chlidren to go to school.

Ms Jamie Davies has been installed as Executive Director of Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS).
