With support from an LCANZ Local Mission Fund Seed Grant, St James Lutheran Church Hervey Bay has launched the Community Connection and Growth Project. Led by Child & Youth Ministry Coordinator Hannah Doecke, the project is already strengthening ties between church, school and community.

The inspiring disability housing project completed by the congregation at St John’s Tea Tree Gully SA now has a name: LYNAY Homes.

Our Lutheran family steps out for the kids
More than 1,300 LCANZ members and friends have stepped out on the footpaths, roads and tracks around Australia in this year’s ALWS Walk My Way events held to support children impacted by war and poverty. To date, approximately $190,000 has been raised to support more than 7,500 children.

Creating ‘a welcoming spiritual home’

Planting a new church has always been a great step of faith. Despite that, members of Grace Lutheran Chinese congregation in Perth have taken that step to serve Chinese-speaking people in the suburb of Duncraig. This bold vision is being supported by an LCANZ Local Mission Fund grant.

Still time for congregations to complete Child Safety Action Plans
Thank you to all congregations that submitted their Round 2 Child Safety Standards Action Plan or Child Safety ‘No Children’ Assurance by the 31 March deadline. A list of all submissions received so far is available on the LCA website.
