Supporting Local Mission

Thank you for your wonderful support of Local Mission and the 2023 appeal. Thanks to your generosity, over $22,000 was received. Admittedly, our target of $50,000 was not reached; however, we are grateful for each and every one of you and your support of God’s mission through the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ).

The appeal’s focus for 2023 is on the leadership development of young adults, a program that is run by Grow Ministries. The Grow Leadership team actively looks for young people across the LCANZ desiring to grow in their faith and leadership skills. Grow Leadership take the seed that God has planted and waters it. And you are helping us do that!

Joel tells us: ‘Grow Leadership allowed me to discern and evaluate my life in light of my faith. By doing this, I was able to change direction in my life and follow what God was calling me to do … and for me, that was the pastoral office.’

Elsa shares: ‘The biggest result of my Grow Leadership experience was exposure to the different ways that I could serve as a leader within the LCANZ. Grow Leadership clarified the space for youth within the decision-making bodies of our LCANZ.’
