Prayer for bushfire-affected areas

Pray for all the communities affected by bushfires in Queensland, NSW and Western Australia.

Lord God,
We pray for all those affected by the bushfires.
Open your heavens wide and send the rains to extinguish the flames,
so that people, plants and animals may survive and flourish.
Bless those who are in any danger or distress:
the elderly, the poor, the homeless,
the industries and people who depend upon the land
and all who have fought fires, lost possessions,
lost a loved one and who are now facing rebuilding their lives.
Protect and strengthen the emergency services and medical teams.
Save us all by your gracious hand.
Heal us and bind us up in faith.
Amen.
