Young leaders - our hope and joy

If you are troubled by the lack of young people in our congregations today, then this podcast will offer some hope and some joy. Two of the LCANZ's young leaders, Elsa Matthias and Joel Grieger, share uplifting stories about their faith and leadership journeys - and their reflections on how we can continue to encourage and support young leaders in our church.
My hope is that our focus stays on bringing the gospel to our local communities and that we bring young people, old people, children, middle-aged people all along in that journey together ... We're in a community together and have different age groups and life experience for a reason. My hope is that we can use our gifts to be the church and spread that good news.
You often hear that young adults and youth are the future of the church, but they really have something to offer the church right now ... So, I agree with the statement in principle but, from a practical level, it needs to identify how we can engage with whoever is in the church now. If that's young people, well, they're the church right now, they're the congregation, they're the communion, they're the believers, so let's get them engaged.
