New lecturer for ALC
At its May meeting, the College of Bishops extended a call under assignment to Rev Dr Eric Trozzo to serve as Australian Lutheran College’s (ALC) director of Systematic Theology and Church History. Eric, after prayerful discernment, has accepted the call.
Eric is a pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, whose research areas include systematic theology, cross-cultural theology and philosophical theology. LCA Assistant Bishop Stephen Schultz described Eric as ‘suitably qualified for this position’ and an ‘experienced lecturer’.
Eric has previously served as the director of the Lutheran Study Centre at Sabah Theological Seminary in Malaysia, which has strong ties with the LCANZ and ALC. He is already an honorary research associate at ALC and has been teaching as a casual academic for ALC since February 2025.
Eric will bring his broader global experience to the role, along with his capacity to contribute to ALC’s teaching and research programs and is qualified to supervise postgraduate students.
‘We pray for God’s blessing on Eric as he prepares to take up his call at ALC and for all the staff and students of ALC as they continue their service in God’s church,’ said Assistant Bishop Stephen.
Eric’s wife, Pastor Wendolyn Trozzo, has recently accepted a call under assignment to serve St Peters Lutheran Church Indooroopilly, Brisbane.
