Finke River Mission welcomes new finance secretary
Finke River Mission (FRM) has appointed Peter Doecke as its new finance secretary, taking over from Bryan Elliott following his retirement after serving FRM since 2017.
A qualified accountant and member of St John’s Lutheran Church Unley SA, Peter is based at LCANZ Church House in Adelaide in the part-time role, with regular travel to Alice Springs and Papua New Guinea as part of FRM’s wider ministry connections.
Peter recently travelled to Alice Springs and surrounding communities with FRM and other representatives, visiting ministry sites in Hermannsburg and Areyonga and attending a farewell gathering for retiring finance secretary Bryan Elliott.
The trip provided an opportunity to connect with staff, volunteers and church workers involved in FRM’s ministry across Central Australia during his first weeks in the role.
Peter says he is excited to take on the challenge of the role. ‘I’m looking forward to continuing to meet the inspiring people involved in mission work in the LCA and wider Lutheran church,’ he says.
