Questions? God has the answers!

‘Jesus said to [Martha]: “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?’” (John 11:25,26).

I want to be a person who trusts God in all circumstances. I want to be the Martha who responds to Jesus’ question in the above verse as she did: ‘She said to him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one coming into the world”’ (John 11:27).

I want to be the one who trusts God will do what he said he would do. I want to be the one who does not worry about the ‘what ifs’: I trust that God will help me, but what if it doesn’t happen as I want it to? God said he will always be with me, but what if he gets distracted and forgets?

There are so many questions we have. Sometimes, I wish I had Jesus right next to me to talk to and answer my questions. And then I remember, he is right next to me and never leaves me – I can ask him anything and everything. I just have to be willing to listen to his answers. God speaks to us through his word, fellow Christians, family and friends, and the Holy Spirit never leaves us.

Lutheran Tract Mission (LTM) has many resources to help you understand and answer some of the hard questions.

Have a look at the LTM website at www.ltm.org.au and search Christian growth and group devotions.

Anne Hansen is Lutheran Tract Mission’s Tract Development Officer.
