Survey helps guide mission and ministry planning

Every five years, a national survey is conducted across Christian denominations to gather information from members about church life in Australia. The National Church Life Survey (NCLS) results then provide accurate, up-to-date information to help congregations in their ministry and mission plans into the future.

The Lutheran Church has been involved in this survey from its beginning, more than 30 years ago. In the past, our church has had a high participation rate among parishes and congregations. Taking part in the survey is fully funded by the LCA and comes at no financial cost to participating parishes/congregations.

The LCA encourages you to engage with this survey, whether your faith community has done so in the past or is a first-time participant. The survey period will run from August to October 2026. For more information, please contact your District Office.
