Miraculous Jesus
To help individuals, congregations, and school and aged-care communities to grow their understanding of the wondrous miracles of Jesus, Lutheran Tract Mission has prepared a free Lenten devotional entitled ‘Miraculous Jesus’.
‘Miraculous Jesus’ is available on Lutheran Tract Mission’s website at www.ltm.org.au/flipbklenten-2025 and can be downloaded, printed or used as a digital flipbook.
The Lenten season begins with Ash Wednesday on 5 March and goes to Easter Sunday on 20 April. While there are 40 days in the season – not counting the seven Sundays that are excluded – this devotional covers them all with 47 short devotions, Bible readings and prayers.
Each day, we will walk through a devotion dwelling on the love of God, working through the life and death of Jesus, and wondering in awe at his wisdom and remarkable miracles!
Even in Jesus’ time, more than 2,000 years ago, people were asking the same questions we do today: ‘Who is this man Jesus?’ He was able to do things that no-one else could. It was prophesied back before he was born that things would happen to him, and there would be things he could do that would amaze us all.
I have chosen the title ‘Miraculous Jesus’ for a reason. Through this season of Lent, we will go through each of the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and, in turn, discover all the amazing miracles Jesus performed throughout his life and even into his death. Toward Easter, we will also touch on the prophecies about Jesus’ life and how he would die.
Jesus is God’s Son, who came to earth to heal, teach and show the love of God, his Father, for all his children. I pray that you will be able to see the extent of God’s love for you by him sending his only Son to earth to show the selfless servant in Jesus Christ. Jesus performed miraculous healings and signs of wonder in nature. He still does the same for us today if we have eyes to see, faith to believe, and hearts to understand.
‘When the Sabbath came, Jesus began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. “Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been given him? What are the remarkable miracles he is performing?”’ (Mark 6:2).
