Meet Ginger and Patch – NazCare’s newest residents

Nazareth Residential Aged Care (NazCare) in Woolloongabba has recently welcomed two Moodle puppies, Ginger and Patch, as the newest additions to their Lifestyle Team. These nine-week-old bundles of joy were donated by Angela Steven of Ray White Stones Corner and have already become a cherished part of the NazCare community. Their arrival followed a consultation with residents, with an overwhelming 31 out of 32 expressing enthusiasm for the puppies joining the facility.

Ginger and Patch have quickly adapted to their new roles, providing emotional support and comfort, particularly for residents with dementia. Their playful and loving nature has made a significant impact, helping new residents settle in and lifting the spirits of those feeling down. The puppies are currently attending puppy school, with plans for further training to enhance their therapeutic abilities.

The positive influence of Ginger and Patch extends beyond therapy, as they have been embraced by the entire NazCare family. Their introduction was marked by a special naming ceremony conducted by Pastor Chris Johnson of the Lutheran Church of South Brisbane. As they continue to grow and learn, Ginger and Patch are set to bring even more joy and comfort to the residents and staff at NazCare.
