LLL Partnerships empowering Lutheran communities

LLL is proud to partner with Lutheran Retirement Living and Aged Care providers, Schools and Congregations with Missional Loans that help make a real difference in local communities.

There are many fine examples of this mission in action across the country, such as the inspiring disability housing project at St John’s Tea Tree Gully, SA, recently named LYNAY Homes.

The acronym LNYAY, which stands for ‘Love Your Neighbour as Yourself’ (Mark 12:31 NIV,) was chosen after a congregation-wide process, including a new logo design, for the three wonderful Lutheran Disability Services (LDS) homes.

The bible verse beautifully captures the spirit that has underpinned the project from the start.

The completed homes have been built on an unused piece of church land with the support of an LLL Loan, providing desperately needed disability housing for the local community.

Officially opened and blessed by Pastor Rolly Stahl at a ceremony in September 2024, the project is now home to LDS clients who have been welcomed by the congregation with open arms.

This project is an excellent example of the missional initiatives LLL is actively pursuing having successfully made the transition from an Authorised Deposit-taking Institution (ADI) to a Religious Charitable Development Fund (RCDF).

LLL are no longer a bank, which allows greater flexibility to achieve missional goals.

During the 2023/24 financial year, LLL advanced $38.8 million in new lending to Lutheran Church projects, with total funds lent growing by 12% and available to Lutheran entities amounting to $358.4 million – the largest committed lending since becoming an ADI in 2019.

Through the generosity of depositors and investors, LLL provided grants of $2.7 million for projects ranging from national initiatives to grassroots efforts.

LLL also supported the Church with Mission Outreach Grants, providing $90,000 across 6 projects, $135,000 in LLL School Bursaries, and over $186,000 in Sponsorship to Lutheran entities, all aimed at enhancing missional outcomes.

If a Lutheran Retirement Living and Aged Care provider, School or Congregation has a project, large or small, that would benefit from a partnership with LLL, get in touch today.
