Godly men shaping men
Just as women need women, men need other godly men to shape and guide them to be all that God has intended for them. Integrity is a value that should be strived for in all areas of life. To be a man of integrity is to value what is honest, true, noble, trustworthy, kind and right before thinking of any personal gain (Philippians 4:8). As these values are taken to heart, being a man of integrity integrates itself into your whole being; you become the person God intended you to be. The following are 10 ways to begin steering yourself and other men on a course toward integrity.
- Root yourself in God’s word (Matthew 22:37,38).
- Look to the positive in all situations (1 Thessalonians 5:11a).
- Be yourself and allow God to work through you (Proverbs 20:7).
- Love and live for your neighbour above yourself, ‘Live for others’ (Galatians 5:13b,14).
- Be honest with each other (Ephesians 4:25).
- Allow a friend to be open and honest with you in confidence (Ephesians 4:15,16).
- If you are in a relationship, be in the habit of sharing everything with your wife (Ephesians 5:33a).
- Take personal responsibility for yourself (Psalm 19:12b,14).
- If you have children, teach them (Deuteronomy 6:5–7).
- Be the spiritual leader in your house (Colossians 3:16).
