Reaching a million people every week
We are a large department with our own website. Please visit us to discover how we can serve you and your communities through media ministry.
Lutheran Media produces outreach content for pastors and congregations to use and share in your outreach efforts. We produce videos (YouTube, live-streamed worship and DVDs), podcasts, blog posts and printed resources to help you bring God’s love to life in your community.
Lutheran Media has been reaching out to people through media with the gospel of Jesus Christ since 1945. With only 8 per cent of Australians attending church on any Sunday, media gives us the opportunity to reach the other 92 per cent. Many lives have been changed by hearing God’s word over radio, TV, the internet and social media.
We are one of five departments in the Local Mission office. Partnering with us in mission are:
- Child, Youth & Family Ministry (Grow Ministries)
- Cross-Cultural Ministry
- Ministry with the Ageing
- New & Renewing Churches.
Lutheran Media is not on the budget of the Lutheran Church of Australia (LCA) and needs donations to reach out to people with Jesus’ message of hope. We thank God for the prayers and generosity of supporters who make all of this possible. You can donate online (tax-deductible) or call us on 1800 353 350.
How we serve
Brock is one of hundreds of people who respond to Jesus’ message of hope. Brock was a separated young dad who picked up his son every second weekend. He’d turn on the radio in the car and listen with his son. One day he heard ‘Messages of Hope’. He kept listening weekly. Then, one day, Brock and his sister walked into their local Lutheran church and were baptised.
Lutheran Media serves pastors and congregations by reaching out into your communities through media with Jesus Christ’s message of hope to people like Brock. Over a million people every week across Australia, New Zealand and the world are being reached.
Lutheran Media produces on topics such as relationships, forgiveness, parenting, anger, guilt, pain, grief, miscarriage, mental health, addiction, loneliness, prayer, stress, dementia and ageing. Messages are being shared every week through radio interviews and discussions, along with videos and free booklets.
'Messages of Hope' is played on over 800 radio stations across Australia and New Zealand and reaches more than 5 million people a week. Add the reach through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, and many more people have the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus Christ and believe in him.
We reach out to children and families through Happyland.com.au which is an online internet game where children can have fun and safely learn that God loves them. Over 35,000 people enjoy Happyland, along with the online Advent and Easter calendars, DVDs, showbags, Christmas cards, and the colouring-in and activity pages. Follow Happyland on Facebook.
