Creating new tracts – God’s inspiration

What gives you joy? Where do you feel you have been gifted in working for God?

I always thought that my gifts lay in teaching and sharing my love of God with my primary school students. During my time at Lutheran Teachers College, I couldn’t wait to have my own class to share my love for God through all my subjects.

Then I went overseas and nannied in Wales. Maybe that is where my gifts and passion lie. Then I went to the USA to work for Lutheran Youth Encounter – maybe evangelism and music is my thing? Then I came back to Australia and became a mum – now that is what I loved most and enjoyed sharing God with my children. With my children at school, I thought, now what? Back to teaching?

No, God called me into the position of Lutheran Tract Mission Development Officer 19 years ago. Here, I can use my passion for evangelism, teaching others through my words, and the love and compassion that come from having children and a family. God has grown me throughout my life, enabling me to share my experiences and faith in the writing of new tracts.

People ask me how I come up with new ideas and designs, and the only answer I have is: God! More than 2,000 tracts later, 700 devotions in my Lent and Advent devotionals, and I still have ideas and messages to share about my loving Heavenly Father and my Saviour, Jesus Christ!
