Standards of Ethical Behaviour
The General Church Board has approved specific standards of ethical behaviour for the LCANZ. Underpinned by Scripture and church policy, these standards are applicable to all aspects of the life of the church.
LCA Standards of Ethical Behaviour
As Christians, we know and proclaim that God loves all human beings. Responding to that love in how we behave towards one another is an important part of that message. As Jesus says in John 13:35, 'If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples'.
It is important that we clearly articulate the standard of behaviour we expect from one another, not using vague language but in useful and practical terms.
The Standards of Ethical Behaviour brochure and video summarises in simple and clear language how we can demonstrate and declare God’s love to one another by how we conduct ourselves in our personal behaviour, pastoral care, caring for children, communications, and financial and administrative matters.

Child Safety Standards
The Lutheran Church of Australia is committed to providing a safe church environment for children and young people. Children are a precious gift from God, with special vulnerabilities, and they are to be protected from all forms of abuse. The LCA has no tolerance for child abuse in any form and affirms that its people have an important responsibility to care for children and to keep them safe.
