ALC students graduate

22 December 2023

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

On the evening of Thursday 14 December 2023, staff and students of the various colleges of the University of Divinity, gathered together with friends and family at Adelaide West Uniting Church to witness the graduation of 64 students.

Australian Lutheran College (ALC) graduate and Perth-based SMP and church planter, Matthew Schubert, was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Scholar for his commitment to deep learning, the quality of his scholarship, the originality of his thinking and his academic achievement across all disciplines throughout his studies. His Masters’ Capstone, which examined the relevance of micro-churches for church planting in the Lutheran Church of Australia, provided significant missiological insights and testament to his passion for service to others as expressed in all the University’s graduate attributes. As part of the proceedings, Matthew delivered the valedictory address.

The ceremony concluded with a thought-provoking graduation address delivered by Pastor James Winderlich, in which he challenged those present to reflect on the reasons behind why they do what they do and the reasons they engage with theological learning.
