Catherine Court placed on the market
A former boarding facility for female students of Lutheran Teachers College (LTC) is being placed for sale on the market.
Catherine Court, a 1960s three-level, 12-unit block on Wellington Square, North Adelaide, is currently tenanted to the general public, with Australian Lutheran College receiving the rental income.
The site, however, has not been used for any LCANZ or ALC operations for a number of years, and there are no plans to do so. Furthermore, over time capital and maintenance costs on the site can be expected to increase. In the interests of good stewardship, the proceeds from the sale will be invested so that the legacy of Catherine Court may live on.
The units served the church well during the LTC/‘Sem’ era of the 1970s–80s and is fondly remembered by students and teaching staff as a hub of Christian community and personal growth. As such, former members of the Catherine Court community are encouraged to mark the closing of this chapter with thanksgiving events.
The church gives thanks to God for the gift of Catherine Court and looks forward to seeing how the blessings of that gift will continue to unfold, through the lives of its former community members and from the investment of the sale proceeds in God’s kingdom.
