Something is happening with Afghans

2 February 2022

Please pray for the Afghans who have settled in Australia and New Zealand and particularly for the new wave of fugitives who have come in the last few months. Those of us who are in contact with them are seeing unusual ‘openness’, which might be the result of increased prayer of late. Please pray that the Afghans the Lord has chosen to pioneer his church here will come right through to faith.

This picture was drawn by an 8-year-old Afghan girl and given to us the other day. Her family has just arrived from Kabul, and she is describing the heart of her people bleeding into a bowl while she stands nearby.

It’s time they get to know Jesus better, the one who shed his blood on their behalf and said, ‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon me to heal the broken hearted’.

Our contacts through the Australian Churches Refugee Taskforce report that the government has agreed to settle 16,000 Afghans over the next few years.
