Your own personal testimony

17 September 2018

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

‘And so, King Agrippa, I did not disobey the vision I had from heaven. First in Damascus and in Jerusalem and then in the whole country of Israel and among the Gentiles, I preached that they must repent of their sins and turn to God and do the things that would show they had repented. It was for this reason that these Jews seized me while I was in the Temple and they tried to kill me.’ (verses 19-21)

Read Acts 26:1-23

Paul stood in front of King Agrippa and gave his personal testimony. Imagine standing in front of our country’s leaders and telling them about your faith in Jesus!

In front of the king, Paul points to the Old Testament Scriptures and how God’s promises of a saviour were fulfilled in Jesus’ life death and resurrection. Paul explains how Jesus came to him and told him to preach repentance and forgiveness to those who have faith in Jesus.

You may not have the opportunity to stand in front of our country’s leaders and explain how Jesus fulfils the promises of the Old Testament, but you do have the opportunity to witness to all those around you. Simply by living a life of repentance, that is, a life where you constantly tum away from doing wrong, you witness boldly about Jesus. Yet, if you are asked, your personal testimony, just like Paul’s, will never focus on you but on Christ and how he has fulfilled his promises for you.

Dear heavenly Father, help me to walk in your ways so that by the way I live, I may point others to you. Amen.
