God cares

20 May 2018

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

All of them depend on you
to give them food when they need it.
You give it to them, and they eat it;
you provide food, and they are satisfied. (verses 27, 28)

Read Psalm 104: 24-34, 35b

We are told in the Bible that, when God looked at the world he created, he ‘was very pleased ‘ (Genesis 1:31). God cares and provides for every living thing, and every living thing has its place and function in creation.

It is indeed a wonderful and wondrous world that our heavenly Father has made for all his creatures, and since the beginning of time people have been singing their praises to their creator.

Even in today’s less than perfect environment, where humans have caused chaos and destruction, God is still there, caring for and nurturing his creation.

It was God’s care for humankind that caused him to send his Son, Jesus, to rescue us from the consequences of our sins.

It is his care that prompts our praise and thanks today. We, in turn, need to care for our world as God wants us to.

‘I will sing to the LORD all my life;
as long as I live I will sing praises to my God.’ (Psalm 104:33)
