SA-NT bishop re-elected

9 May 2018

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Pastor David Altus was re-elected for a further two-year term as Bishop of the LCA’s South Australia-Northern Territory District at its 48th Convention of Synod from 4 to 6 May.

Bishop Altus first led the district in late 2009, when he was installed as SA-NT President, as the position was then known. He was also re-elected as bishop by the 2014 and 2016 district synods.

Incumbent First Assistant Bishop Tim Klein, who is pastor at Warradale Lutheran Church in suburban Adelaide, also was returned to his district role at the biennial convention.

Pastor Eugene Minge, from St John’s Tea Tree Gully, in the north-eastern suburbs of Adelaide, was elected as the District’s Second Assistant Bishop.

The convention, which was held at Tatachilla Lutheran College, McLaren Vale, south of Adelaide, featured the theme, ‘Hearts Burning’, which was based on Luke 24:13–35.
