Domestic violence prevention campaign calls for feedback

6 April 2018

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The working group for the LCA’s campaign to prevent domestic and family violence is calling for feedback from congregations.

The campaign, entitled Hidden Hurts Healing Hearts, was launched in November last year. Each congregation received an information pack, including a letter from LCA Bishop John Henderson, and flyers for each adult member.

Campaign Coordinator Pastor Ian Rentsch said the working group would now like to gather feedback about the launch, including the following information:

  • Was your congregation able to launch Hidden Hurts Healing Hearts on Sunday 26 November?
If not, has your congregation/parish found another Sunday on which to launch it?
    How was the material received?
Have members of your congregation/parish discussed the issue of domestic violence?
If so, what issues has the campaign raised for them?

Campaign feedback should be sent to ian.rentsch@lca.org.au

Requests for further resources can also be made through the above email address. Such resources include an expanded brochure containing information on domestic violence, which will be suitable for lay people, and for speakers to address congregations or parishes on the matter of domestic violence.

LCA members are also invited to complete an online survey about attitudes to domestic violence through the Hidden Hurts Healing Hearts website at www.preventdfv.lca.org.au

In the coming months, the website will also include details about training related to domestic and family violence.
