Healed, forgiven

1 April 2017

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

From the depths of my despair I call to you, LORD.
Hear my cry, O LORD;
listen to my call for help!
If you kept a record of our sins,
who could escape being condemned?
But you forgive us,
so that we should stand in awe of you.
(verses 1-4)

(read Psalm 130)

‘God, forgive me’ sounds such a simple prayer. And it is. But it is also one of the most profound, life-changing prayers we can ever utter. In forgiving us, God brings us healing. And that can, in turn, bring about amazing transformations in our lives.

Through God’s healing forgiveness, damaged relationships can be restored, hearts and minds can know peace as never before as they are set free from resentment and bitterness, outlooks can be reshaped, and physical health can be restored.

A prayer for forgiveness is an answered prayer—Jesus’ death has guaranteed that. In Jesus, God is a forgiving God. He does forgive the sins of those who come to him in Jesus’ name.

Ask him often for his forgiveness, so you can enjoy all the healing benefits he has to give you.

Thank you, Jesus, for the healing coming into my life through the forgiveness of my sins. Amen.
