On 8 November, during a regular worship service at her home congregation (Faith, Warradale SA), Lisa McIntosh was installed as the sixth editor of The Lutheran by LCA Bishop John Henderson.

Once assistant to former editor Pastor Robert Wiebusch, Lisa returns to the LCA’s national magazine 21 years later to take on the management role. In the meantime, she has amassed volumes of journalism and editorial experience.

Lisa succeeds Rosie Schefe (pictured above, right, with Lisa), who has retired after a three-year term. Lisa’s installation was an opportunity to also formally acknowledge Rosie’s service, as well as that of The Lutheran designer Comissa Fischer. Comissa has served in this part-time role, as a lay worker, for four years, and is retiring to spend more time with her family. These two servants of the church were farewelled with a rite of prayer and blessing.

The talented Elysia Weiss, of Sydney, has been appointed designer for The Lutheran. Readers will see Elysia’s work from the February edition next year.

Linda Macqueen, editor of The Lutheran from 1999 to 2012, is executive editor, as part of her role as LCA Communications Coordinator.

The Lutheran was first published in January 1967, a child of the union of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Australia and the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Australia in October 1966. The first editor, Pastor E W Wiebusch, served from 1967 to 1986. He was succeeded by Pastor Robert Wiebusch (1986–1995) and Mrs Grace Bock (1995–1999); then Linda, Rosie, and now Lisa.
