Upcoming deadlines for General Synod

General Synod lay delegate details and proposals are due on 31 March 2024.

Lay delegates

Parishes must have elected their delegate/s for the 2024–27 synodical period and returned the appointment form to the Secretary of the Church by 31 March 2024. If you have not yet submitted your details for adding to LAMP2, please complete the second page of the delegate appointment form.

Pastor delegates

Each LCA district is entitled to elect one pastor delegate for every two eligible lay delegates, based on the 2023 statistical returns. District offices are required to supply names of their pastor delegates to the LCA for entry into LAMP2 by 31 March 2024. 

Principal delegates

The principals of each region of Lutheran Education Australia are entitled to elect one secondary and one primary school principal per region as delegates. Notifications of these delegates are due by 31 March 2024.

Proposals

Proposals to General Synod must be submitted no later than 31 March 2024 using the proposal template.  The following LCANZ entities may submit proposals: congregations, parishes, LCANZ boards (provided the matter is within their terms of reference), General Pastors Conference, General Church Board or its Executive, the Synod of any District, the Church Council of any District or the Pastors Conference of any District.
