Love comes to life

29 March 2016

Where love comes to life has been the LCA’s tagline and theme song for the past few years. These words encourage us and focus us on the unity we have in Christ. It is both a beautiful song and a great phrase.

The womb is the place in which God knits new life together and with love this new life will grow.

Through the gift of married love, love comes to life in a special way. Wife and husband come together out of love for each other in a union that reflects the love of Christ for his bride the church. It is a creative love and it creates new life.

The conception of new life is wonderful and mysterious. When we follow the journey, it is amazing to learn that out of the 300 million tiny sperm which begin the journey, only about a dozen make it to the egg. Then just one single sperm enters the egg, and, voila, a new human is created! All the genetic information for the new, unique life is there in that moment of conception. The womb is the place in which God knits new life together and with love this new life will grow.

Lutherans for Life celebrates the value of every human life and the cycles of life and love that flow through creation.

Pastor Joshua Pfeiffer is the current chairperson of Lutherans for Life. He is the pastor at Bethlehem in Adelaide and is married to Kimberley with three young children.

What is LFL about?

Lutherans for Life is a group within the LCA that seeks to promote and defend the value of human life ‘from the womb to the tomb’. We do this through our quarterly newsletter Life News, and by organising specific events and guest speakers within the church.

Where is LFL headed?

We’d like to explore how we can provide resources for areas of our church for which these sorts of issues are particularly relevant, namely schools and aged-care facilities.

Can I support this cause?

Yes! Please visit our website, donate online, sign up to receive Life News, and discover how else you can become involved.
