Register now for mission conference
The LCA/NZ’s New & Renewing Churches department will host a one-day mission conference in July in Adelaide and registrations are now open.
The ‘Growing Missional Culture in Congregations: Bringing Change’ conference will be a full-day program featuring scholars, practitioners and church leaders from around the world. They will be in Adelaide for the annual gathering of the International Research Consortium (IRC).
The IRC has about 40 members, of whom 20 to 25 usually attend each gathering. They come from the US, the UK, Europe, South Africa and Australia and are mostly from Anglican, Reformed, Lutheran and Presbyterian churches. The IRC studies, reflects on and researches ‘missional’ local churches, addressing both the theological and the social scientific studies of Christian congregations and the systems that support them in innovating their life and mission.
Speakers on the program to date include Professor Patrick Keifert, from Church Innovations USA; Dominee Danie Mouton, Executive Officer of the Synod of the Dutch Reformed Church in the Eastern Cape in South Africa; the Rev Canon Dr Nigel Rooms, from the Church of England’s Partnership for Missional Church, Church Mission Society; and Rev Dr Noel Due, the LCA/NZ’s Pastor for New & Renewing Churches.
The IRC Open Day will be held at Immanuel College Novar Gardens, in South Australia, on 1 July. The cost is $75. For more information and to register, click here.
