Shine on me

28 January 2020

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Our God is merciful and tender.
He will cause the bright dawn of salvation to rise on us
and to shine from heaven on all those who live in the dark shadow of death,
to guide our steps into the path of peace.
(verses 78,79)

Read Luke 1: 68-79

Those without faith in Christ are living in the dark shadow of death. People who are in Christ are walking in the light, because the bright dawn of salvation has risen on them. Their steps are guided into the path of peace—the peace that the world of darkness cannot give. Jesus is the light of the world, and he alone can give us lasting peace.

God in his mercy has revealed his grace for the salvation of all people. He doesn’t want any person to perish and end up in the shadow of eternal death and hell. On that first Christmas eve, the glory of the Lord appeared to the humble shepherds and informed them that Christ their Saviour was born. This good news has brought great joy to many people throughout the world. They know that their sins are forgiven for Christ’s sake.

Keep giving your support to mission work at home and overseas. All nations need to hear the good news that Jesus saves.

O God, be merciful to me a sinner. Cause the bright dawn of salvation to shine on me and give me peace. Amen.
