God’s presence shines in you
Arise, Jerusalem, and shine like the sun;
The glory of the LORD is shining on you!
Other nations will be covered by darkness,
But on you the light of the LORD will shine;
The brightness of his presence will be with you.
Nations will be drawn to your light,
And kings to the dawning of your new day. (verses 1-3)
Read Isaiah 60:1-22
You probably know at least one person who lives with great trust in God and shows that trust in their joyful, kind and peaceful actions. Chances are you like to be with that sort of person, and chances are you find their faith and joy wonderfully infectious.
God has chosen you to be the sort of person others are drawn to. As he grows you in faith in Jesus, he is giving you a way of life in which his light shines through the good things you say and do.
Maybe you don’t feel like the sort of person others would really want to be with. Don’t worry. God is patiently at work in your life, and he is a master craftsman. God will complete what he has started in you, and he will give you a share in his eternal glory.
Lord, please grow your gift of faith in me, so that the light of your presence in my life will shine through everything I think and say and do. Amen.
