You are never forgotten

2 November 2018

Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and enabled her to conceive. She became pregnant and gave birth to a son and said, “God has taken away my disgrace:’ (verses 22,23)

Read Genesis 30:1-24

Jacob had two wives (Leah and Rachel) and two female servants. It seems that there was a competition to who could bear Jacob the most children! Rachel prayed to God for a child after being barren for some time. It says that God ‘remembered’ Rachel and enabled her to conceive. In ancient times, it was considered a curse from God to be barren. When Rachel conceived, Rachel saw it as God taking away her disgrace. What about you, friend? What is the ‘disgrace’ you need God to take away from you? Your face is always before God. He has never forgotten you – ever! He promises to ‘supply all your needs according to His riches in glory’ (Phil. 4:19). Remember the one who constantly remembers you! Whatever you are facing today, you don’t need to face it alone. Jesus promised to never leave you nor forsake you. Friend, you are loved and remembered – even right now!

What would you like God to take away from you?

Most gracious Father, thank you that you love me and your face is always towards me. Take my shame and my disgrace and fill me with your peace. Amen.
