Know His love

29 July 2018

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

I pray that you may have your roots and foundation in love, so that you, together with all God’s people, may have the power to understand how broad and long, how high and deep, is Christ’s love. Yes, may you come to know his love although it can never be fully known – and so be completely filled with the very nature of God. (verses 17b-19)

Read Ephesians 3:14-21

Love is the greatest thing in the world. ‘Meanwhile these three remain: faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of these is love’ (1 Corinthians 13:13). Why is love greater than faith? Because the end (love) is greater than the means (faith). Love is faith in action. There is nothing greater than Christ’s love. He loved me and gave himself to save me, a lost and condemned person.

I pray that you will know Christ’s love. If you do, you will have a loving attitude towards those around you at home, at work and at worship. The Lord himself will supply you with the power and skill to tell of his love and to show his love to all people around you, even to your enemies.

Jesus is our example in showing love to those around him. We see his love in action as he ministers to the Samaritan woman, the dying thief on the cross, to his disciples and to many others.

Lord, let your love shine in and through me to others today. Amen.
