You are always in God’s care
I am always in your care;
save me from my enemies,
from those who persecute me.
Look on your servant with kindness;
save me in your constant love. (verses 15,16)
Read Psalm 31:1-4, 15, 16
You may have had times in your life when you felt vulnerable: when you felt helpless in the face of a sickness or disease, or when you felt that you were being overwhelmed by the temptation to do something that you knew was wrong. During such times it can feel as if the powers of evil have the upper hand, as if God has no strength or desire to save you.
It’s often only afterwards that you can see that God has been with you all along, that even through the times when he seemed far away he was with you, giving you his protection and guidance.
You are always in God’s care. No matter what sort of difficulty or trouble or temptation you face, God is with you to help you, to heal you and to show you his kindness. Let him give you the protection and care that you need.
Lord, thank you for keeping me in your care. Look on me with your kindness, so that I may have the strength to face whatever challenges life brings. Amen.
