The Lutheran Church of Australia follows the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL), a three-year cycle of readings.<\/p>\n

The years are designated A, B, or C. Each yearly cycle begins on the first Sunday of Advent. All the resources on the Worship Planning Page are based on the RCL.<\/p>\n\t

\n\t\tCalendar of Liturgical Colours\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

Liturgical colours correspond to the church year’s seasons, and highlight specific foci of faith and liturgical practice.<\/p>\n

White\/Gold<\/strong> signifies joy and purity (Christmas, Easter, weddings, funerals); Green<\/strong> represents growth (Epiphany, Pentecost); Violet <\/strong>denotes preparation and repentance (Advent, Lent);\u00a0Black<\/strong> is used for mourning (Good Friday);\u00a0Red<\/strong> symbolizes the Holy Spirit and martyrs (Pentecost, Reformation).<\/p>\n\t\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
