Drama

Dramatising the Readings

The readings can be read by more than one person to make the dramatic meaning of the text clearer.

For instance, the first reading (1a) from Genesis could be read by two readers: narrator and God. The alternative first reading (1b) from Hosea could be read by three or four readers: one to announce and close the reading, one as the Lord, one or two as the people. The gospel could be read by five readers: narrator (the pastor), Jesus, Pharisee, leader of synagogue, woman.
