Children - Sunday, 11 December 2022 – Third Sunday of Advent, Year A

Advent Wreath – Do not overlook the opportunity the Advent wreath gives for the participation of children. The lighting of the candle may be done by an older child (with care), or it may become the focus of the children’s address (which may be shifted to the beginning of the service). For full instructions on making the wreath and lighting prayers, see the Liturgy and Prayers tab.

You might like to use a Jesse Tree as an alternative to an Advent Wreath.

Come and See Jesus

The Come and See Jesus curriculum published by Openbook Publishers has a wealth of material and ideas that may be adapted for use in worship. Please note that a new edition of this material is currently available for the Revised Common Lectionary.

This week’s story is ‘John the Baptist asks about Jesus (Matt 11:2-11)’. Material for this story may be found in Original Edition, 3 Advent, year A (in 3rd Series C book) OR Revised RCL Edition, same.
