Service Orders - Sunday, 8 March 2026 – Third Sunday in Lent, Year A

Service Orders

Please note: Lent is a season of preparation for the death and resurrection of Jesus. Thus, elements celebrating the risen Christ are usually omitted during Lent. When using the service orders provided, it is advised that you should:

  • Avoid the Alleluia Verse after the second reading. An alternative verse is included in Liturgy and Prayers section.
  • In the Service with Communion (p6) service order, the Gloria in Excelsis is either left out or replaced by the shortened form (refer to the hymnal).
  • In Alternative Form A (p58), omit the Hymn of Adoration: This Is The Feast.
  • In the Sing the Feast (Chataway) order, omit the Glory to God and the Hallelujah after the Second Reading.
  • In the Service with Five Songs of Faith, omit Glory to God.
