The pits!
So, when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe – the ornate robe he was wearing – and they took him and threw him into the cistern. The cistern was empty; there was no water in it. (verses 23,24)
Read Genesis 37:23-36
Joseph was bestowed a beautiful robe of many colours by his dad. When his brothers ganged up on him and were jealous of him they threw him down a well and then later sold him into slavery. Who needs enemies when you have family like that? Have you ever felt like Joseph? Have you ever been betrayed or rejected by family or others?
Many of us have experienced rejection at some level in our lives. The good news, friend, is that God will never reject you! He sees you when you are in whatever pit you may find yourself in. Whether it is by your own doing or inflicted by another. Remember that there is no pit too deep for the hand of God to reach into and restore you!
When was a time you felt lowest in your life?
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your loving kindness! You are a God that loves me too much to leave me the way you find me. Restore me today in your name I pray. Amen.
