The Father’s love
“Your servant, my father said to us, ‘You know that my wife bore me two sons. One of them went away from me, and I said, “He has surely been torn to pieces.” And I have not seen him since. If you take this one from me too and harm comes to him, you will bring my grey head down to the grave in misery.’ (verses 27-29)
Read Genesis 44: 18-34
There is something about a father’s love for their children. It operates in a realm that cannot easily be explained. Instincts kick in when you become a dad. Instincts such as providing for your children and family. Protecting them. Teaching them about life and the ways of the world.
So it was with Joseph’s father, Jacob! He had already lost Joseph (or so he thought) and he certainly didn’t want to lose his beloved Benjamin too! So it is with our Father God. He loves us so much! How it breaks his heart when his children turn away from him and he loses even one of them. You too are precious to the Father, friend!
What are some fond memories of your father?
Thank you, Father God, for your provision, protection and salvation through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
