Reconciliation Action Plan
Reconciliation is at the heart of the Christian faith. It is a gift of God in which we are invited and privileged to participate (2 Corinthians 5:16–20).
Our LCA RAP
Our LCA Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) was formally endorsed by the General Church Board at its June 2020 meeting and then by Reconciliation Australia in August 2020.
Our RAP is a Reflect RAP designed to assist us as church, as the name suggests, to reflect on our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our RAP is a tool that helps us to consider what we can do to further grow this relationship, to build a deeper and mutual respect for First Nations peoples and for that which is important to them.
Our RAP also seeks for us to consider together, further opportunities to encourage and enable First Nation Christians to serve and lead in all aspects of church life in the LCA.
Our RAP speaks to the commitment the LCA has made to further their vision of reconciliation ... to bring to life an expression of our ministry that all peoples recognise, understand, value and respect the histories, cultures, lands and contributions of First Nations peoples as we honour our common humanity as children of God.
Our LCA RAP invites every one of us to be involved – our congregations, schools and communities.
A copy of our LCA RAP is available on the RAP website www.rap.lca.org.au. Read our RAP, listen to the message from LCA Bishop John Henderson, and explore the website and its resources to find out how you can get involved.
