STELZER SIX 2016

GROWERS SELECTION 2016

Our wine judge, internationally renowned wine writer (and Lutheran!) Tyson Stelzer says this about our great wine:

The Lutheran Winemakers selection is not chosen like any other wine club. These are not leftover wines from lesser regions or outdated cleanskins from mega corporations. Every wine that we offer is from a small, family winery and some sell for as much as $40 a bottle from their cellar doors. These wines are not chosen by buyers from clearance bins. Every bottle has been kindly put forward by a Barossa Lutheran winemaker who believes in the power of wine to bring people together and wants to offer something to enhance your experience. Such is the generosity of these folk that more than twice as many wines as are needed are put forward. It’s my privilege to personally hand select the best of the best for you.

STELZER SIX 2016

The popular Stelzer Select 6 is back! Tyson has sampled dozens of Lutheran wines by some of the best winemakers in Australia before selecting his personal favourites.  This selection offers something for everyone, from lively whites to luscious reds to drink right away or cellar, ready for a special occasion!

The cool 2011 season has heightened the violet fragrance and distinctive white pepper character of primitivo, emphasising fine-ground tannins and notes of greengage plum. It's medium-bodied, tangy and finely textured, evidence that a cool, wet season can sometimes pay dividends in a warm region.

Tilly's Vineyard Eden Valley Adelaide Hills 2015

A blend led by the cut grass and lemon zest of semillon, with the spicy lantana exoticism of sauvignon blanc, the freshness of riesling and the body of chardonnay and pinot gris, it's youthful and vibrant even after a year of age, with the structure and vitality to hold for a few years yet.
