Scholarships

  •

Do you long to study further in your vocational field, or to try something new, but don't have the financial wherewithal to do it? In the Lutheran Church of Australia (LCA), wherever possible we help people to study and to grow in areas that might benefit the church. This is why we offer a number of scholarships.

LCA Standing Committee on Scholarships

Each year, through the Scholarship Committee, we invest in change and growth by supporting a small number of pastors and lay workers to study a specific area of ministry or develop talents and skills which are needed within the LCA. We support people who are preparing for advanced or specialised ministries within the church. They might already be working or preparing for specific tasks, and we help them fund study that will enhance their service within the church.

Scholarships are available to help fund up to one year's full-time equivalent study within a broad range of institutions, including Australian Lutheran College. The money can be used to pay fees or for travel expenses associated with the study program.

Board for Lutheran Aged Care Australia (BLACA)

At its national conference in May 2012, BLACA launched a Scholarship Scheme for all pastoral carers working in Lutheran aged-care facilities. It is for those people already ministering in this specialised area of pastoral care, those wishing to enter it and those wanting to undertake research or create innovative resources. The brochure provides information about eligibility and application process. Download BLACA Scholarship Scheme brochure here.
