Requirements

Professional Standards Workshop Training is to be updated every three (3) years.

  • If you have completed an LCA or LCNZ workshop in the six-hour format in 2015 or 2016 you are not required to undertake the new workshops/webinar until your training expires.
  • If you have completed training in 2014 you should seek to update during 2017. Check your certificate for the expiry date.

Workshop Fees

  • $40 Professional Standards Core + Working with Children and Youth (per person)
  • $15 Webinars (per person)

Workshops

Professional Standards Core Workshop + *Working with Children and Youth Team Member Training

  • Offered concurrently
  • For pastors and chaplains, Church Council members, elders and pastoral assistants, people in governance, decision-making and leadership positions. Congregation members are encouraged to attend.

*Working with Children and Youth Team Member Training

In addition to the above Professional Standards Workshop – Core, everyone engaged or connecting with children (under 18 years) as part of congregational governance, decision-making or other activities is required to complete:

  • Working with Children and Youth – Team Member Training
  • Safeguarding Children – Child Protection (Webinar)

This includes pastors and chaplains, Church Council members, elders and pastoral assistants, all who will engage with children/youth under the age of 18 as part of their ministries. Parents are encouraged to attend.

National Webinar: Safeguarding Children - *Child Protection

In addition to the above Professional Standards Workshop – Core, everyone engaged or connecting with children (under 18 years) as part of congregational governance, decision-making or activities will be required to complete:

  • Working with Children and Youth – Team Member Training
  • Safeguarding Children – Child Protection

This includes: Pastors / Chaplains, Church council members, Elders / Pastoral Assistants, all who will engage with children/youth under the age of 18 as part of their ministries, Parents encouraged to attend

*Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) conditions apply. Contact your District Professional Standards Officer.

National Webinar

  • Normally held on the fourth Wednesday of each month, except during school holidays and December
  • 90 minutes: 7.00-8.30pm CST; 7.30-9.00pm EST
  • Cost $15/ person
